A lovely refined rustic styled shoot on the blog today, shot by Robyn Photography and graced by a few talented vendors – take a look!
“Inspired by the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year – Marsala – we envisioned a bridal suite filled with luscious florals in berry, ivory and wood tones. Our bride is getting ready for her big day – unwrapping a necklace gift from her future spouse, reviewing her wedding vows and trying on gowns. She’s putting on the finishing touches – from Marsala-toned lipstick to spritzing her favorite scent. The quieter moments of the bridal suite are always some of my favorite as the photographer, and we aimed to capture that with this bridal session.
I was lucky enough to mention my ideas about developing a bridal session at the newly renovated Palmer House & Stable (Solon, Iowa) to planner colleague Jenn Pochobradsky of Harper Hadley Events and she truly helped bring it to life.
Hope’s Bridal provided the exclusive accessories, as well as the beautiful Essence of Australia lace gown and the simple, flowered Stella York gown. We loved showing off two separate looks with this color palette.
One of my favorite details will always be the incredible cascading bouquet created by Shelly Sarver Designs. Minutes after the Pantone Color of the Year was announced, she began pulling floral options that would fit the bill. She is truly an artist! If you hope to recreate a similar look for her Marsala wedding, here is a list of some of the bits Shelly used in the design: -the light roses are quick sand -the ‘marsala’ colored roses are Matilda -white pokey flower is bells of Ireland -the filler ‘marsala’ little flower is Christmas or Festival bush (called both) -cymbidium orchids -fuzzy berry type things are berzillia berries -white ranunculus -pepper berries -boxwood -wax flower, and -bay leaves.”
