{Dainty Extra} How to Get Your Monogram On

Engraved pieces are a way to make a memory last forever. Whether it is a new monogram after the wedding, a special date, or a sentimental quote, an engraving takes you back to the specialness of the moment that inspired the purchase.

One of our favorite things at the Dainty office are monograms to add a personal touch to gifts and everyday items in the home. This is a great way to remember meaningful moments and to celebrate joining lives as a family. The wonderful team at Borsheims Fine Jewelry & Gifts put together different scenarios to use monograms for your registry or for loved ones.

registryYou will actually be surprised how often barware is used. One of my favorite gifts was a personalized bottle opener that represented where my husband and I met. What meant even more was that it was from my husband’s parents. Monogramed cutting boards are always a hit for family gifts, and distillers can also make perfect presents for anniversaries or birthdays.

registry2A go-to present I love for weddings is a “first holiday” gift. The first holiday as a married couple is so special, and capturing that with a nice frame, candleholder or another type of ornament always bring nostalgia to the season. But why stop at the first holiday? Splurge on engraved crystal for an anniversary or surprise your mother with a monogramed dish with your family’s names along with your maiden name.

Everyday Home

registry4registry3Special frames and glassware are always a great choice. Those gorgeous wedding photos deserve a prominent place in your home, so why not engrave it with a special saying, date, or monogram? Another favorite gift I know I received was engraved champagne flutes. It makes our anniversary so much better getting out the flutes to cheers while we look back at photos and the video from our day. My next goal, however, is to start investing in the pictured Sasha Nicholas collection with hand-painted porcelain – wow. Those beauties would make me force everyone to let me host Thanksgiving every year (hint, hint to my family).

Men’s Gifts

registry5One of the best ways you can show the groomsmen how much you appreciate their time is with engraved gifts. Either monogram their name or have fun with it and use an inside joke. I suggest the latter. These gifts can also be used with your husband, as I mentioned, with a nice decanter or a tie clip and/or cufflinks.

I hope this blog gets the gears going for gift ideas and/or helps give you options on how you can treat yourself with meaningful pieces. Check out Borsheims Fine Jewelry & Gifts in Omaha, Nebraska November 14 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. for a Simon Pearce engraving event where you can get anything engraved from glass trees to frames to serve ware, etc. It’s also an amazing process to witness. Call 800.642.GIFT for more info on the event or for anything pictured in today’s post!

Happy monograming!
