We think we found the definition of a gorgeous winter bride. Did we mention they planned their wedding in only a few months and were married on a Monday?! Enjoy all of the snowy beauty of this North Dakota real wedding captured by the talented duo Carly Loves Amos Photography.
From the bride…
After having to postpone our original summer wedding date due to some sudden health concerns, we chose Monday, December 21st because it was literally the only date that would work until the following June. We embraced the challenges of a winter wedding and embarked on the craziness of planning a Monday wedding the week of Christmas. What mattered most was having all of our loved ones there to celebrate with us. We chose an ivory and gold palette to create an elegant winter wonderland, adding warmth with lots of light and touches of Christmas décor.
During stressful times of planning, I found three things to be helpful. One was to simply be completely and sincerely honest. If I didn’t like something, I had to say so. If I was feeling overwhelmed, I had to take a break. Two was to ask for help. If I could delegate something, by all means I tried to do it and then checked it off my list. Which brings me to number three, which is to make a checklist. I made a master checklist, a monthly checklist, a weekly checklist, and a daily checklist. Knowing that I had everything written down, I was able to just focus on my daily tasks and not worry about forgetting to do something.
My mom and I helped each other do our own hair and makeup for the day like we used to do every morning when I was growing up, and that is something I would never want to change. Those quiet moments together before the day began are something I will treasure forever.
My favorite moment of the day was standing up in front of the church right after my husband and I vowed to love and honor each other all the days of our lives, as we exchanged a moment of pure, unbridled joy. After having gone through some really frustrating health issues to get there, that moment was truly the end of a dark night and the dawn of a new day for us.
I absolutely loved how all for the décor turned out but my favorite pieces were the cocktail table centerpieces and the hanging gold bulbs in the window. I loved the simplistic elegance of them both.
